Candidates 2020 - FIDE declares "safety is our priority"

@anderson013a Someone who helps a chess player prepare and analyse games. Like a training buddy.

Anyway, let's not let such serious things like life and death get in the way of a tournament!

(/s)
@anderson013a I do not know about that either, so do not feel stupid! At first I thought it was the time unit, but it did not make sense. It must be people who come with the players to help them analyze games and stuff like that... This is what I understood.
@Toadofsky, yes, that's true.
But I think that FIDE already has some agreement with Russia, and the CT will be an exception. Otherwise it wouldn't be possible to open the tournament. Now, when the candidates tournament is officially opened, it will be quite weird to cancel that.
So I think it will be held in normal mode.
Also, if people from the US, the UK, and the EU have to isolate for 14 days, how can Fabi even play???
Russia is playng with fire ,don't postpone the tournament in this times is a pure madness
I hope those Lichess reps stay safe.

@lakinwecker hey eating too much popcorn can be dangerous. Safety is our priority, remember?!
@rfw oh right. Damnit! I guess I'll stick to drinking beer and eating the roast I'll cook later tonight.
@Toadofsky
> including the participation of foreign athletes (coaches, specialists) in all-Russian sports events previously planned with foreign participation
They ban international sports events, but also for purely Russian sports events the participation of foreign athletes, coaches etc. is banned.
> sports events, subject to mandatory annual inclusion in the Unified Calendar of Interregional, All-Russian and International Physical Culture Events and Sports Events
There is a list of some important sports events with a very long name that Google Translator tried to convey, and it was said that the events from it must be postponed. Based on the formulation I suppose there are some criteria that make the inclusion in that list mandatory, so you cannot drop out of the list to not postpone your event.
