Do chess puzzles help you improve?

Let me phrase it differently: Do they HINDER improvement? The answer is no. So enjoy :-)
I have found that by the intensive use of the training feature I have improved my concentration and my play over a 3 week period. I have been playing intermittently for 53 years. In my mid teens I reached an ELO of about 1500 then by about 30, 1600. Then up to a couple of years ago I reached a seemingly impenetrable barrier. On Chess.com I maxed at 1650 but I knew there was a fundamental problem with my thinking process. It wasn't my understanding of tactics or strategies nor my basic understanding of openings. It is more a problem of using intuition only rather than calculating variations. The training puzzles have gradually changed by chess play to include the ability to calculate more than 3 or 4 deep in lines and to avoid overlooking obvious moves and sometime the in-obvious. I still make errors and a few blunders but I think they are reducing and sometimes my average centipawn loss is between 10 and 20 where before it was 50 - 100. For me the way I decide on a move has been a very difficult nut to crack and I don't think I will go much past 1900 on Lichess if I can't smash this way of thinking through candidate moves. Before I become demented in old age I would like to reach 2,000 ELO OTB. The puzzles are just one way of improving. I think playing chess can delay the effects of brain deterioration in old age and definitely is good for the younger brains. For me it is a pleasurable past time irrespective of my rating but winning is nice.
no. chess puzzles dont help me to improve. I cant improve anymore because I reached my limit. thats life.

I am on 2000 FIDE Elo and I have to play with great passion to hold this rating. No way to improve anymore. But playing on a certain level also needs some training for sure.

Online chess is not the way to gain more chess skills of course but some fun at least...
