The music thread to end all music threads

#65 but you can maybe help me with this (or anybody else):

Is there a more specific genre (more specific than hard trance) for this one from 0:07 to 2:30 ? (I like the progressive drums with that superb change at 1:45)

Loosely could be called EDM, but it's properly techno. Techno is one of the worst electronic music forms, along with EDM, and non-psychedelic Trance.
mmm... EDM and techno are too broad for that I guess, what I'm looking for:

1) is electronic in nature
2) has a progression with drums from zero to "a lot"
3) doesn't care much for melody
4) cares less for vocals
5) if it has vocals, it cares even less romantic lyrics

Maybe there isn't a name for that
Since people are talking about posting their own stuff, here's mine. I'm an old dude and only started writing and recording about a year ago. I'm into 70's rock so that's the sound. Can't call it Classic Rock 'cause it ain't classic. I'm calling it Retro Rock. I'd really appreciate it if people gave it a listen :)

@allthis: Have a look at the 4th post in this thread, which I wrote: What sense would this musical investigation I instigated make, if I wouldn't be committed enough to give every presented piece a thorough listening? And others will surely profit from this thread as well! :)

I agree with rise_UIED, I post but I also listen to what others are posting !

@Reaver96: great song, Pink Floyd is always awesome

@allthis: Amazing tracks man. Sounds great. I feel an influence from Pink Floyd (and that's superb), can it be ?

Here goes another song that inspired me in my years as guitarist (from 14 to 19), since that I knew that Vai would be a great influence (if I kept playing that is):

@John Qwerty cool to know you also play the guitar, Im actually 19 years old and I've been playing for about 3 years by now, Im not so good but I always like to improvise some lenghty instrumental 'solos' with some prog roc backign track , here's another track that I like a lot www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aa596u1_Cgk
As you may have noticed David Gilmour is my primary inspiration for playing the guitar, But there are also many good guitarists out there, as you said Vai.

Iron Maiden - Only The Good Die Young

normally I'm not so much a fan of that whole glam rock niche (is that appropriate here?), but this song found my liking 'cause of its incredibly encouraging lyrics! :)
