This has just happened to me, too. Terrible feature!
Wait a second... what's the purpose of this?
Isn't the purpose of a resignation confirmation to make sure you don't accidentally misclick on the button and accidentally resign?
Because that would mean the argument in #4 makes no sense. "If you're resigning, it doesn't matter if you have little time left to confirm since you're going to lose anyway." However, since this feature is requested because people are accidentally resigning, time does in fact matter.
I don't see the logic here.
