I have been on Lichess since, well, long enough, and over time I saw many posts about horror movies and incidents et cetera.
And all most on all of such forums someone would post about @ghost , and well someone else would be surprised on seeing what is written on @ghost and most of those forums would conclude by saying it is just a prank by lichess coders.
But today while going through my games I found this.
So, with this I have concluded that @ghost name is given in games for accounts which have closed and asked all their data to be deleted, so that anyone can see those games but never know who were they played by.
So, next time someone makes a post about @ghost we know.
NOTE: they could have also named them something like deleted_user, but they chose @ghost So, I also draw the conclusion that lichess developers are no gentleman.
