Play chess against yourself?

Is it possible to play chess against myself? Keeping in mind that I will always know what my "opponent" will do next?

But if it's possible, can it help in some way?

I play with myself all the time. It's alot of fun.

When asked if he played himself...Fischer said that he did, and that he always won. Might be some kind of paradox thing. If you defeat yourself...have you really won?! An ego thing for Fischer... I'm sure. :]

Playing against yourself is the best way to train to become a very good player. The best players in the world train by playing against themselves.
